Abstract

Based on the working principle of the power shift clutch, the mathematical models were developed to study the dynamic performance of charge and discharge processes during shifting. An integrated simulation model was made applying the dynamic simulation software. The results of the simulation are in good agreement with the experimental results. By using the simulation model, the following conclusions were made: within the factors that affected the dynamic performance during charge/discharge processes, the pipe diameter is the greatest one. The whole clearance of the disk affected the charge and discharge times mainly. The affected degree increases along with the diameter of the pressure drainage holes increase. The oil temperature was also an important factor, especially in designing the clutch, the hydraulic system as well as the control system.
