Abstract

In this paper, the performance of log-normal and Rayleigh-lognormal fading channels are studied. Especially, The average bit error probability (ABEP) of M-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(M-QAM), M-ary Phase shift keying (M-PSK) schemes are analyzed for log-normal and Rayleigh-lognormal fading channels. The simple closed-form expressions have been derived by employing a simple accurate closed-form approximation for the expectation of the function of a normal variate. Further, the closed-form expressions of the outage probability, ergodic capacity and ε-outage Capacity over Rayleigh-lognormal fading channel are derived. Finally, the accuracy of these proposed analytical models are confirmed by simulations results.
