Abstract

A triple-effect regeneration solar distiller with vertical plate and water reservoir was designed. Its operation parameters were measured under actual weather condition to obtain the temperature of whole day, water production rate and accumulated fresh water yield curves of the experimental system. The performance ratio of the experimental equipment was 1.35. The heat and mass transfer calculation model of the experimental system was built. Comparing the calculation model with the experimental data, the accuracy of the model was verified and experiment result was further analyzed. The energy flow in experimental system was analyzed. The results show that too much heat dissipating in system lead to low performance ratio of the system working in the actual weather condition. At last, the actual operation characteristics of solar desalination system are forecasted and evaluated after optimization to provide guidance for engineering application.
