Abstract

The open-loop FOG signal gathering system was designed. It consists of open-loop FOG, A/D converter, thermoregulator device, rate regulator turntable and computer system. The open-loop FOG random drift signal is got and its noise is analyzed. The noise consists of lamp-house and detector noise, fiber optic winding noise and optic parts noise etc. Among them photon shot effect noise is essential. The theoretic limit of the photon shot effect noise is the white noise. Using time series analysis method, self correlation function and partial correlation function are calculated and the ARMA model of open-loop FOG random drift signal is built. As reasons of open-loop FOG random drift are complicated, it is very difficult to model it accurately through theory methods. So the ARMA model built through actual testing data is more reliable and precise.
