Abstract

Simple construction and prominent efficacy are important characteristics of traditional explosively formed penetrator (EFP) charge, but unifiable design of warhead as well as all kinds of sensing and controlling elements is usually necessary in the practical weapon system, in this case the influence that sensing element imposes on the forming of EFP must be considered. By using nonlinear dynamics simulation software AUTODYN-2D and 3D, the exploding processes of EFP warheads respectively equipped with tabulate antenna, central signal transmission pipe and side signal transmission pipe and the forming process of EFPs are simulated in this paper, the influence law that three kinds of sensing elements impose on the forming of EFP is obtained. Simulation results can be used for designing of sensitive ammunition with EFP charge.
