Numerical simulation of explosion in an airplane luggage container

Abstract

This paper analyzes a blast in an airplane luggage container using ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Some safety factors were concluded from the simulation. The Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method was introduced in the calculation. By comparison, the results got through ANSYS/LS-DYNA agree with those computed with MSC/DYTRAN well.
