Abstract

Digital library evaluation is an important research topic which has a rapid development recently. But behind prosperity of so many relevant projects there appears an isolated and discrete characteristic among projects. This paper concerns the exposed problems and hidden intrinsic issues in the evaluation researches. Through the deep discuss we desire to clearly locate the substantial cause of divarication in digital library evaluation. At last we briefly suggest four meta-theories for digital library evaluation. We hope to give a helpful work for systematic recognition, readjustment and guidance about digital library evaluation.
