Abstract
A vehicle roll stability analysis method to indicate the vehicle rollover risk is presented in this paper. The roll stability limit is discussed to generate rollover threshold to indicate vehicle roll stability state in terms of lateral acceleration based on a suspended vehicle model and the consideration of road bank. Road bank estimation methods are discussed. A roll angle observer is proposed using Sliding Mode algorithm. The roll stability analysis is implemented in lateral acceleration - roll angle phase.
