Abstract

A new design etching electromagnetic band-gap(EBG) structure on the power plane was proposed to mitigate simultaneous switching noise(SSN) in this paper. The characteristics of the stop-band are simulated by ansoft HFSS. Additionally, comparing with the design consists of a Sierpinski curve with one iteration and meander lines, it has shown better lower frequency characteristics. And, its -40dB noise suppressing bandwidth can be broaden from 186MHz to 20GHz which almost covers the whole noise band in UWB applications.
