Abstract
This study provides a method for design of a dual-band flat radome wall structure. The theory of small reflections is applied to design for the dual-band structure. The wall structure, which possesses an odd number of layers, is symmetrically constructed, and the dielectric constant decreases from the skin layers to the central layer. The proposed structure exhibits dual-band transmission capability with a low operating frequency f0 and a high one, a • f0. The low operating frequency f0 can be arbitrarily selected in the centimeter wave band (up to about 10 GHz), and the ratio of the high to the low operating frequencies can be also arbitrarily selected in the range of a ≥ 5.0. The dual-band radome wall structure is demonstrated to be feasible for both centimeter and millimeter wave applications as well.
