Abstract

In this paper, a terahertz (THz) corrugated conical horn antenna based on metallic micro-machining technology is proposed. The horn is composed of 21 copper layers. Each copper layer is used the low speed wire cut technology to form the desired structure. The horn reveals a bandwidth of VSWR < 2 from 500 to 750 GHz. The simulated radiation patterns exhibit symmetric gaussian beams with low sidelobe level. The antenna gain varies from 18.3 to 20.1 dBi and the good gaussicity above 95% is achieved in the whole band.
