Abstract
In this work, for clarifying the relationship between corrosion and internal friction of each component of silicon carbide ceramic matrix composites, the effect of water vapor corrosion on internal friction behavior of SiC ceramics was investigated by analyzing the trend of their weights, flexural strengths, phase, internal friction and microstructure during corrosion at 1300°C in an atmosphere of 50%H2O-50%O2. The results showed that the effect of corrosion on internal friction for SiC ceramic is irregular and weak.
