Abstract

To deal with the problems of scattered and incomplete expression of the cable layout design information during manufacturing of complex cable harness, an integrated information model of complex cable harness in virtual environment was proposed. In this model, the geometrical model information and cable bundle model information was taken as its core. B-Spline curve was used to express the geometric shape, and connection information as well as topological structure information of cable harness was used to establish bundle connection among connectors. The basic attribute information, connection information, accessory information, topological structure information, geometry model information and cable bundle model information were integrated for the virtual wiring and assembly simulation. The model was utilized in virtual cable layout design and cable assembly simulation, and the information needed by cable manufacturing department and assembly department was outputted, which demonstrated the correctness of this integrated information model.
