Abstract
Pilot symbol-assisted channel estimation under Rayleigh fading channel in wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) is investigated. Application of regression algorithm in channel estimation is presented. After initial channel estimation with the classical methods, channel gains estimated are filtered by linear or conic regression algorithm within a given regression length. Simulation results showed that this method offers up to 0.4 dB of gain in a WCDMA system.
