Abstract

To test the quality (energy, frequency, frequency band width) of seismic wave, as well as explore the explosive source that can generate seismic waves with high energy and frequency, a field test in sandy soil was carried out using TNT, aluminum ladder (AL), 8701 and black powder (BP). Vibration signals of the ground surface at a distance from 10~65 m were recorded and analyzed by Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT). The results showed that the seismic wave generated by 8701 with high energy and detonation velocity owns large energy, but accompany with a narrow frequency band and low predominant frequency, and its energy in high frequency region get attenuation rapidly along with the propagation distance; BP with low power and low detonation velocity explosive generates a wide frequency band wave, however, it is short of energy. Then, high power and low detonation velocity explosive-TL stimulates seismic wave with large energy and wide frequency band, and its dominant frequency is between that of BP and 8701.
