Abstract

The asymptotic waveform evaluation (AWE) technique is applied to mixed potential integral equation (MPIE) for fast frequency sweep in half-space scattering analysis. The AWE procedure requires the evaluation of high order derivative of impedance matrices that consist of complicated Green's function of layered media. Pseudo-spectral method, a numerical differentiation approach, is employed to calculate these derivatives. Numerical experiments show that AWE technique improves the efficiency of scattering computation in half-space structure. Furthermore, the presented approach can handle dispersive media.
