Abstract

During jet switching process in a supersonic jet device, there are some complicated flow phenomena, such as shock-shock interaction, boundary layer-shock interaction, low-pressure vortex region forming and fading away, boundary layer separation, and so on. In this paper, FLUENT (a kind of CFD software) is applied to calculate the unsteady flow field and visualize the flow during jet switching process. The governing equations of flow are Reynolds Averaging Navier-Stokes equation. The model of turbulence is Realizable k-epsilon Model, and enhanced wall treatment that combines a two-layer model with enhanced wall functions is employed. Reasonable numerical results are obtained.
