Abstract
Desktop searching engines are used frequently in our modern operating system, but their techniques cannot be used in small mobile devices because of the limited memory, limited processing speed and the characteristics of flash. In this paper, we proposed an adaptive inverted index that can be used in small mobile devices based on the memory constraint and storage characteristics according to the size of memory can be used in searching. As demonstrated by our simulation results on real data set, our algorithm can achieve major performance gains in terms of the search speed and energy consumption.
