Abstract

To make good use of the on-board energy sources in the hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) design and application, several influencing factors on the HEV system efficiency were studied. By contrast calculation and simulation, the adaptiveness of different structural schemes and control strategies was evaluated, and the effects of the connection of double power sources, the hybridization ratio, the driving cycle, and the control strategy on the system efficiency were discussed. Results show that taking the planetary gear as output shaft, increasing the hybridization ratio and adopting the fuzzy logic control are helpful to improve the system efficiency of HEV under driving cycle especially under urban driving conditions.
