Abstract

In view of the problem that the low heading angle measurement precision of HMR3300 in the practical use, a valid magnetic error compensation method for electronic compass is proposed. Based on analyzing the cause mechanism of heading angle error, and then the error correction model under the condition of non-heading reference was established, the autodyne compensation coefficient formula was inferred. The experimental result shows that the compensating process is correct and effective, the maximum heading error of HMR3300 drops to 0.5°.
