Abstract

GAP gels were prepared separately in five solvents by sol-gel method. The GAP gels were characterized using the measures of FT-IR spectroscopy, TG and DSC for its structure and thermal properties. Its crosslinking density relative eigenvalue and gel mass fraction were tested. The results indicate that the prepared GAP gels all have good thermostability and their density are in the scope of 0.455~0.556 g/cm 3. And as the decreasing of the chosen solvents' polarity, all properties of GAP gel such as gel fraction, crosslinking density, thermal stability, thermal decomposition and mechanical performance are enhanced.
