Abstract

In order to study the effects of quantities and position of initiation points on double-beam focusing warhead, numerical simulation was conducted on a certain double-beam fragment focusing warhead. The simulation results were accordant well with the test results. The fragment scattering characteristics under different initiation manners were made comparison and analysis. The research results show that when taking axial initiation, the quantity and position of initiation points have less effect on the fragment velocity, large effect on the focusing effects of fragment. When using eccentric initiation, fragment velocity is proportional to the detonation radius, the quantities and location of initiations in the eccentric shaft have much effect on the fragment scattering characteristics than the circumferential angle of initiation point. The fragment scattering can be optimized and the damage effect caused in fragment focal zones can be enhanced by changing the quantities and location of initiation points appropriately.
