Abstract

The discharge characteristics of plasma display cell have been investigated for various configurations experimentally and numerically. It is shown that the discharge efficiency increases as the increase of the electrode length, the gap and the existence of dielectric rib, while the sustaining voltage does not change significantly. Increasing the cell height results in a reduction of the operation voltage of the cell, but does little effect on the efficiency. A good efficiency can be obtained under lower sustain voltage by optioning the electrode arrangements.
