Abstract

This paper considered the problem of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation with electromagnetic vector sensor arrays, and proposed the dual mode MUSIC (DM-MUSIC) algorithm based on the tensor model. Decoupling of direction and polarization parameters is also addressed, based on which a lower dimensional DM-MUSIC algorithm is proposed. (Lower dimensional) DM-MUSIC exploits the dual mode orthogonality of tensor signal subspace and two noise subspaces, and accomplishes DOA estimation by two consecutive projections. The simulation results exhibit the superiority of (lower dimensional) DM-MUSIC to the conventional MUSIC.
