Abstract

A microwave interdigitated capacitor (IDC) in Au on quartz is presented as a micro-fabricated sensor dedicated to liquid detection and quantification. With detailed theoretical analysis and simulation, an equivalent model and an accurate linear equation are proposed for extracting liquid complex permittivity. Initial measurements are in consistent with the values in literature.
