Abstract

The test bench of electric power steering was built based on the technologies of automotive driving simulator and hydraulic servo control. The development idea of the test bench was put forward. The structure and principle were analyzed. The key technologies including the driving simulator, the simulation device of steering resistance, the measure and control system were developed. Using the test bench, the snaking test was carried out under the vehicle speed of 80 km/h to evaluate steering road feel, the '∞' test was carried out under the vehicle speed of 10 km/h to evaluate steering maneuverability. The results indicated that the test bench satisfied the request for development and research of e-lectric power steering, and could be used to perform matching design of electric power steering quickly.
