Abstract

In this paper, a broadband beam end-fire antenna at P-band is designed. On the basis of traditional yagi antenna, this kind antenna can reduce the original dipole to half of its former size; it also places the monopoles on the metal plate and improve the reflector and directors of this antenna moreover. This kind of antenna successfully expands the bandwidth to 38.4% at the sacrifice of deterioration of pattern through the simulation optimization of antenna parameters, which at the same time ensure the high gain in the relatively frequency band. The simulation results indicate that the antenna can implement the well radiation between the frequency band of 0.5 GHz and 0.8GHz, ensure the return loss to be under -10dB, and the direction coefficient of the plate end-fire antenna in the whole band are above 8.6 dBi.
