Deposit refund system based consumption behavior for E-waste recycling

Abstract

Starting from economic incentives and combining with the deposit system and low carbon behavior, the influential factors of the deposit refund system was explored based on the consumption behavior pattern, and some advice for the extend of refund system was provided. From the above research result, an influential factors model was constructed, which basing on the behavior theory. Through questionnaires conducted in Beijing area and statistical analyses, the research finds that the consumers' acceptance of deposit system and amount of deposit they are willing to pay highly depend on their attitude toward environment protection, behavior habits and personal characteristics. Hence, some suggestions were proposed, such as expanding advertising, differentiation system design and improving recycling convenience, etc.
