Clutter Edge and Target Detection Method Based on Central Moment Feature

Abstract

The detection of clutter edge target is always a difficult problem for radar target detection. Constant false alarm detection (CFAR) algorithm often misses detection when there is a target on the clutter edge. The central moment feature can reflect the dispersion degree and skew of echo signal and can be used as the basis of clutter and target detection. In this paper, a method of clutter edge and target recognition based on central moment feature is proposed. The presence of a target on the clutter edge can be tested according to the central moment feature in the signal. The simulation results show that the center moment detection method is more accurate in the clutter edge environment, and the method can accurately identify the clutter edge and the actual target.
