Abstract

This paper proposes a novel architecture of context-aware workflow system aiming at the demand of pervasive computing and mobile distributed computing. By analyzing of the existent system architectures and finding out their deficiencies, architecture of workflow system based on context-aware computing is designed by using middleware thoughts. The context-aware middleware hides the physical differences of the underlying sensor, filters the raw data, reasons to produce high-level semantic information and provides it to the workflow engine to make the workflow engine can sense the changes in environment. The system realizing technology of this architecture is also proposed. The system architecture has the capacity of collecting a variety of sensor information, and good scalability and adaptability, so it makes the development of context-aware workflow system become more convenient.
