Abstract

Automatic steering system is a vital component of automatic driving. Automatic steering dynamics with preview point respect to road is established. Based on automatic control theory, further analysis on longitudinal velocity to system poles and look-ahead distance to zeros is done. Accordingly, a kind of look-ahead distance is discussed and a novel feedback control by adopting pole-displacement using Ackermann's Formula is proposed. The control system is validated by simulation results.
