Abstract

In this paper, an improved method in finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation is presented to analyze electromagnetic structures modeling with non-uniform mesh in a Cartesian coordinate system. This new method is based on Yee's grid definition and FDTD formulas in generalized nonorthogonal coordinates. Two kinds of non-uniform meshes are analyzed by improved method and traditional FDTD, the comparative result proves it is more available in reducing the reflecting wave caused by non-uniform mesh.
