N2 - Underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs) are confronted with great challenges on the design of medium access control (MAC) protocol due to its poor reliability, small channel capacity, and large propagation delay. How to optimize the channel access technology and increase the network throughput has become a research hotspot. Aiming at the star topology consisting of the sink node and its one-hop neighboring nodes, this paper proposes a concurrent transmission MLC-MAC protocol based on CSMA. We introduce BCTS frames to broadcast the sending order scheduled by sink node. We further model and analyze the transmission phase of our protocol, and derive the collision and transmission probability to achieve the saturation network throughput. Simulation results prove that our model is validated and our protocol effectively improves the performance of UASNs.
