Abstract
We have theoretically analyzed a polarization-insensitive configuration with orthogonal-pumps based on four-wave mixing (FWM) in SOA for the wavelength conversion of optical OFDM signals. We have shown the feasibility of wavelength conversion of optical OFDM signals and the degeneration of optical OFDM due to ASE in SOA. 2.5 Gb/s optical OFDM signals have been converted with small power penalty at BER of 1 × 10-3. The polarization dependence of this configuration is less than 3 dB.
