Abstract

Third-party cold chain logistics enterprises (TPCCLEs) are commonly with the characters of heavy distribution tasks, strict requirements for the quality of cold chain goods, advanced technologies for refrigeration and trace technique, high costs of distribution, etc. Therefore, they have to pay more attention on the issue of vehicle scheduling. Taking the restrictions of vehicle load capacity, volume capacity and time windows of this kind of enterprises into account, this paper proposes a vehicle scheduling model for TPCCLEs based on an improved saving algorithm. The objective function of this model is minimizing the total distribution cost. Then, an instance of vehicle scheduling from a TPCCLE in Beijing is solved out through the C++ programming algorithm, which verifies the rationality of the model.
