Abstract

In this paper, a new sub-aperture based SAR raw signal generation method is proposed. According to the model, we split all radar pulses into groups and split the scene into small rectangular scenes by divide the scene into equal range rings and small segments in range and azimuth direction respectively. Each pulse group's system transfer function can be calculated simultaneously by the weighted sum of all small rectangular scenes' equivalent backscattering coefficient in the same equal range ring, and the calculation is performed by FFT. The pulse group's SAR echo data can be generated by the convolution of the transmitted signal and system transfer function. Experimental results are presented to show the correctness and accuracy of this algorithm.
