Abstract

A subjective test was designed to study the impact of spatial and temporal degradations on audiovisual quality integration. In the test, four sequences were used as the test materials. The test was performed in three steps: first, subjects assessed the video quality only; second, only audio quality was assessed; finally, the audiovisual quality, video quality and audio quality were assessed simultaneously. We build the audiovisual quality model in two ways. The result of the test shows that both spatial and temporal degradations degrade the audio and video quality; the type of degradation affects the cross model interaction, but it does not affect the audiovisual quality integration from the interacted video and audio quality.
