Abstract

In this paper, a low-profile wideband circuit analog absorber is proposed. The designed structure consists of one metal frequency selective surface layer printed on a 2.7mm high FR-4 substrate, whose thickness is only 0.07 L at the lowest frequency of absorption. Eight chip-resistors are embedded on the metal strips which provide wideband absorbability. The simulated results show that the absorptivity is higher than 90% from 7.98GHz to 18.41GHz for both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarizations under normal incidence, and the designed absorber performs well under oblique incidence from 0° to 50°.
