Abstract

A joint carrier offset estimation algorithm is proposed to combat the severe inter-symbol interference and sensitivity to the frequency and timing offset of multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) wireless communication system. The proposed algorithm of carrier offset using flexible correlation and minimum mean square error (MMSE) rule improves the traditional carrier synchronization effects dramatically and has achieved precise estimation performance in the wireless MIMO-OFDM system structure. Analysis and simulations show that, the mean-square error estimation performance of the proposed algorithm can achieve 10-6 under a poor channel circumstance, which reveals that the joint estimation carrier frequency algorithm is suitable for the frequency bias estimation of wireless MIMO-OFDM communication system.
