3D unsteady numerical simulation of missile launching

Abstract

The dynamic mesh update methods of computational fluid dynamics were analyzed. A new dynamic mesh update method, i.e. zone moving and dynamic layering method, was presented, and its principle was described. The method was used for the unsteady numerical simulation of 3D flow field distribution in the launching process of missile from concentric cylinder launcher to obtain the time distribution of flow field parameters in 3D space. The simulation results were compared with the test results. The compared result shows that the method can ensure the missile launching calculation accuracy and efficiency.
