Abstract

In this paper, the three kinds of nonlinearities (including material nonlinearity, geometric nonlinearity, contact nonlinearity) of the vehicular solid rubber tire are theoretically analyzed, and their three dimensional (3-D) finite element analysis (FEA) methods are given respectively. The geometric model and the hyperelastic material model of solid rubber tire are developed. The material coefficients are chosen. With the 3-D FEd program, stress-strain field and deformation distribution for some type of vehicle solid rubber tire are analyzed. The analysis of tire stress-strain on the contact area is focused on. This gives theoretical data and the basis for the analysis of temperature field. The results of the theoretical analysis are consistent with that of the loading test.
