Xie Shangran, selected by National Talent Program (Young talent), associate professor, special young scholar, doctoral supervisor of School of Optoelectronics, Beijing Institute of Technology. His research direction is optical tweezers, precision measurement, optical fiber sensing, etc. In 2007 and 2013, respectively, he received his bachelor of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering degrees from the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University under the supervision of Professor Liao Yanbiao. During his doctoral study, he visited Professor Bao Xiaoyi's research group in the University of Ottawa, Canada. In July 2013, he joined Professor Philip Russell's research group at the Max Planck Institute of Light Science in Germany for postdoctoral research, and served as a senior researcher in the research group from November 2015 to March 2021, during which he supervised a total of 5 doctoral students. In April 2021, he joined the School of Optoelectronics, Beijing Institute of Technology. In recent years, systematic and in-depth research has been carried out on the physical mechanism, detection method and measurement application of the new optical fiber tweezers technology, and international influential research results have been obtained in the advanced research fields of optical manipulation, extremely weak force precision measurement, quantum measurement, distributed sensing and so on. He chaired the German government DFG project and participated in the German government cooperative research plan, and the relevant results were published in Science Advances, Light as the first author/corresponding author: Top journals such as Science & Applications, Physical Review Letters, Optica, ACS Photonics, etc., have published 1 EU invention patent and made more than 10 invited reports at international academic conferences.
