Personal profile

Dr. Yao Liaoyuan is professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology. In 2017, he received his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Academician Ren Yonghua. Won the Outstanding Postgraduate Award of the University of Hong Kong; After that, he continued to do postdoctoral research in the same research group. In September 2021, he joined the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Beijing Institute of Technology through the introduction of high-level talents. He has been selected as a National Young Talent (2022) and a special Young Scholar of Beijing Institute of Technology (2021), presided over the National Young Talent Project and the Beijing Institute of Technology High-level Talent Start-up Program, and participated in key projects of national major research programs. Dr. Yao focuses on the design and synthesis of functional clusters, designing and constructing new clusters with specific structures and functions at the molecular level. Taking cluster as the basic unit, the cluster based multi-stage structure and functional materials are further constructed to realize the goal of constructing new sensing, catalytic and luminous materials from bottom to up. In recent years, he has published more than 20 research papers in Chem, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew.Chem. Int.Ed., Chem. Sci., Inorg.Chem., CCS Chem and other well-known journals at home and abroad.
