He teaches courses such as "Physical Optics", "Introduction to Fourier Optics" and "Progress in Modern Optics". He has supervised more than 60 graduate students and more than 20 doctoral graduates.

Liu Juan is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Optoelectronics, Beijing Institute of Technology. He has been engaged in teaching and research in the field of three-dimensional display, holography and diffraction optics for a long time. It has undertaken more than 20 projects such as National Nature Foundation key/International cooperation key/regional joint key/surface projects, Ministry of Science and Technology 973/863 project, national key research and development project, Beijing Science and Technology Commission project and enterprise joint development project. He is also deputy chairman of the Holographic and Optical Information Processing Committee of the Optical Society of China, member of the International Society for Information Display (SID), chairman of SID China regional AR/VR topic, executive editor of Optical Technology, editorial board member of the international journal Optik, etc. He has served as editorial board member and chief editor of the special issue of the international journal Applied Optics, Chairman of the International Conference on Digital Holography DH (2019-2020) and Chairman of the International Conference OIT-1 (2019-2024). He has published more than 200 papers in international optical journals such as Nature Communications, Light, Optics Letters, etc. Some of his achievements have been selected by Springer Nature as ESI hot spots and highly cited papers. He has applied for more than 70 invention patents and authorized more than 50.
He teaches courses such as "Physical Optics", "Introduction to Fourier Optics" and "Progress in Modern Optics". He has supervised more than 60 graduate students and more than 20 doctoral graduates.
