Research Achievement

It has carried out a number of original and innovative studies in microbial resources, systematic taxonomy and biodiversity research, applied and improved the modern classification system of microorganisms, and discovered and isolated more than 50 new microbial species. Among them, 41 new species have been published in Int J Syst Evol Microbiol, an authoritative international academic journal on microbial taxonomy, and have been successively included in Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology. The classification status of actinomycete strains formerly known as Nocardia nocardia, orange variety of Nocardia salviae and Promicromonospora yunnanensis was modified by using molecular classification, morphological classification, chemical classification, physiological and biochemical characteristics and numerical classification. Through a lot of meticulous research, the identification system of gene fingerprint such as rep-PCR for important genera of actinomyces was established, a rapid identification method suitable for analyzing a large number of strains was proposed, and the method and theory of molecular classification was developed, which enriched the contents of the bioinformation database. Through the isolation and identification of new and rare microorganisms, it provides resources and basis for searching and discovering new bioactive substances and metabolites. Some breakthroughs have been made in prokaryotic isolation and screening methods, and several bioactive microbial strains, especially those with saline-alkali resistance, have been screened with promising applications.
His research results have been published in more than 100 academic papers, 50 of which have been included by SCI.
Participated in the preparation of "Microbiology Frontier" won the 2023 China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Excellent Publication Award • Book Award first prize. As the main winner, he won the second prize of the 2016-2017 Shennong Chinese Agricultural Science and Technology Award of the Ministry of Agriculture (Achievement name: Key technologies for efficient improvement and utilization of saline-alkali land in Northwest Yellow Irrigation Area) and the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2014 (Achievement name: Research and Application of key technologies for saline-alkali land improvement in Northwest Yellow Irrigation Area).
In 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017, he was awarded the title of "Excellent Dissertation Advisor" of Beijing Institute of Technology and trained 40 graduate students. In 2005 and 2019, he was awarded the Advanced Individual of "Sanyu People" by Beijing Institute of Technology.
