Wideband Slotted Filtering Patch Antenna Fed by Spoof Surface Plasmon Polaritons Transmission Line

摘要

This paper presents a novel wideband filtering patch antenna with high-selectivity filtering response and wideband radiation performance. The proposed antenna is mainly composed of a radiating patch and a spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) transmission line. Low-pass characteristic of SSPPs transmission line enhances out-of-band suppression at the upper band, whereas a pair of slots etched on the patch provides a sharp roll-off rate at the lower band-edge. The filtering antenna possesses a quasi-elliptic boresight gain of average 4.7 dBi within impedance bandwidth of 5.49-7.12 GHz (25.9%), and out-of-band suppression level of more than 11 dB. This proposed filtering antenna has potential usage in modern wireless communication.
