摘要

(Figure Presented) In silico to in vivo: The design strategy for silicon-based fluorescent nanospheres with controllable sizes was based on the results of theoretical calculations. These nanospheres are fully water dispersible, highly photoluminescent, extremely photostable, and suitably biocompatible. Cell imaging results further demonstrate the nanospheres are remarkably efficacious for real-time and long-term cell monitoring (see picture).
