摘要

With extensive application prospect, the laser-induction hybrid welding (LIHW) has become a research hotpot recently. In this paper, joining of the high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel S690QL by using LIHW and single-laser welding (SLW) was studied and compared. Microstructure and mechanical properties of S690QL welded joints produced were investigated using scanning electron microscope (SEM), electrical back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) and mechanical testing. The results indicated that, due to the induction pre-heating (IPH), microstructure of LIHW joints exhibited better interface integrity. Compared LIHW with SLW, IPH apparently increased heat input and extended cooling time, which inhibited the formation of defects and martensite. Consequently, the ferrite turned to be the predominant phase of the weld, resulting in the decrease of microhardness, and the improvement of plasticity.
