摘要

In this study, two advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) were tested to compare the effectiveness of visual and auditory warnings. Both devices used camera sensors to obtain images of the front view. Lane departure warning and forward collision warning features were provided to the drivers when the systems detected any potential dangers. The main difference between the two devices is that device A only provides auditory collision warning signals, while device B delivers both visual and auditory warnings. HD video cameras and a Tobii eye-tracking device were used to record the drivers' body movements and visual scan path during the entire driving. These data helped us to understand the different driving behaviors caused by visual or auditory warnings. In addition, NASA-TLX was used to measure the drivers' workload. The findings of this study support that collision avoidance warning has no influence on workload to a driver. However, the visual scan path and fixation duration were significantly different between the devices A and B.
