Study on visualization of voltage stability feasible region of bulk power system

In a reduced dimension injection parameter space, this paper presents an approach for on-line voltage stability feasible region visualization by using ANN. To reduce the dimension of the voltage stability feasible region an improved voltage stability index L_I is employed. It is possible to get this region for different system configurations by using one ANN and setting different output values for this ANN. Due to its advantage on speed, it is possible to use this method in real time security monitoring and control. A real bulk power system example is also given to validate this method.
